The parents of these seed come from Dale Steig, Fred Ashworth, Badgersett Research Station and Riverbend Hazels., All these folks have been selecting for productivity and size for over 30 years. These seed come from shrubs planted here at our farm 7- 9 years ago, they have been collected from the best 10-12 plants out of hundreds we have growing here. Mostly selected for size, a couple are medium sized but make so many nuts year after year. We also have high expectations for vigor and thriftiness.

2024 was an average year for hazel here, with too much hot dry weather during ripening , these shrubs are up about 8-15 feet tall after 7-9 years..

Hazels seed should be soaked for a couple/few days before planting if they are stored dry in plastic bags.
