Sold to me as Chestnut Oak, I believe these are acually Chinkapin Oak, Quercus muehlenbergii. I was fortunate enough to get the caps , and they seem just right for Chinkapin Oak…These seed are virtually tannin free, I have no idea if this is normal for this tree!!
