Persimmon 1 Year Grafts

from $40.00

Persimmon is one of my favorite fruits! And the trees are so beautiful.

I have collected a very large selection for sale this year. I do not know if I will have have this selection again.

I am pretty happy to be trialing them in Zone 4. Not many folks have had good luck with them this far north. There are some ‘Meader’ seedling that grow well and produce fruit in Burlington VT! I keep finding cultivars doing reasonably well in Maine and here in Southern Vermont. Please join in the efforts to push this plant well north of it’s native range! I think we can do it if we plant lots and look for the hardy outliers.

Along with the grafted trees, , I am growing thousands of Persimmons from seed from all over the northern part of the country. I am blessed to be getting education and germplasm from some amazing growers!.

I am trialing them all in zone 4!!!!

These are container grown plants and will be ready for shipping in September/October. I would recommend SPRING planting in zone 5 and colder. No guarantees for grafted plants that are fall planted in zone 5 and colder.

For those of you in zone 6 and warmer, fall planting should be fine.
