I am very excited about Heartnut. THESE ARE MY FAVORITE JUGLANS TO EAT!! The nuts crack out whole! Like all our seed they were collected from great orchards, from named cultivar mother trees.

They is hardy in Zone 4. Heartnuts are more tolerant of wetter soils than most other species, this is important for my farm!. It is very ornamental in that it has giant long compound leaves, almost tropical in appearance. Heartnut is a fast grower and has as many as 20 nuts in a cluster. To see one in a mast year is a thing to behold. The nuts are very tasty and come out of the nut whole in a heart shape. I have a great selection of seed from named cultivars.
